Non-Executive Board Member
Mr. Michael Stakol, Managing Direcor of Mainetti International, joined our Group as Non-Executive Board Member. Stakol is the CEO of the Mainetti Group, the largest hanger manufacturer world wide. Mainetti Group has presence in 42 countries and serves more than 5000 clients, including top notch brands and garment manufacturers such as Boss, Prada and Armani. Michael brings in a wealth of knowledge and experience to the BoD through a total of 46 years in the retail and garment manufacturing industry.
Before he joined Mainetti as a CEO, Michael acted as a CEO to SR Gent, that is considered the primary supplier to Marks and Spencer, women fashion house and the largest supplier to a chain of children retailers in the United Kingdom.
In SR Gent, Michael was responsible for restructuring the company after he joined as the group CEO in 1996 where he made a number of strategic decisions including the sale of the group in 1997 to Texmaco - the Indonesian Textile Conglomerate. In addition to that, Stokol took on a number of restructuring procedures in the company's operations, its managerial hierarchy and in the design which led to the development of the financial and operational standards of the company.
Before that, Michael worked at Woolworths (Pty) Limited, a subsidiary of M&S in South Africa, where he was engaged in a number of positions including the Managing Director and CEO. The company's profitability had witnessed a lot of improvements due to the exceptional decisions he made including, setting new store designs, expanding product range, improving systems and thus increasing the company's market share.
