Arafa is committed to a safe and hygienic workplace and we have detailed policies and procedures that are owned and reviewed by the Health and Safety Committee. This chaired by a senior manager and includes senior level and worker representatives form all factories.
Health and Safety training is part of the induction process and also undertaken on a regular basis. Selected workers are trained in first aid and fire fighting and we have our own clinic with a nurse and doctor on site daily.
In our factories the focus is on providing well lit, adequately ventilated facilities with well maintained, safe machinery that is inspected regularly. The factories are equipped with fire fighting equipment with large underground water reservoirs and high pressure hoses dedicated for fire fighting.
There is a full report on all on-site accidents, followed by an investigation to avoid any repetition in the future and we are in the process of establishing a near miss reporting system.
